Lisa Laws
is a visual artist whose work explores the tension between stillness and sensation. Working with mixed media, her practice involves soaking and compressing layers of tissue with oil or acrylic paint, creating subtle cracks and folds in texture and form.Â
She lives and works on the Gold Coast, where she continues to explore process-driven methods and quiet visual language.
About the Collection
Guided more by material and mood than by narrative, she allows each piece to evolve intuitively. For Lisa, she believes her role as the artist feels secondary to what the piece becomes once it exists. The intention is for the art to hold its own presence, something that doesn’t need explanation or authorship to be meaningful. For the viewer, it's about slowing down and allowing the work to speak for itself.Â
